Summer 2022 Update
August 2022
CRWRF recently received another report from our partners in Senegal. This community development project focuses on increasing food security with community vegetable gardens and training for vulnerable individuals. Many of the beneficiaries are people living with HIV/AIDS, newborn orphans, and their caretakers. The gardens have been growing very well, enabling the users to add extra nutrients to their own diets and make a bit of income by selling excess produce at the market. This benefits the broader community, that now has increased access to locally-grown, fresh, nutrient-rich foods. In this photo, Kalidou, an SLDS staff member, explains how to plant and care for a new papaya tree.
